Using the New RSA Cat

We hope that you find the new catalog easy to use. To help you find what you are looking for and to use the many features we have some simple directions listed below:

If you experience any problems using RSA Cat, please call the library at 852-4505 and let us know. 

Login: You do not need to login but many more options are available once are logged in. They include placing holds, renewing items, reviewing your account and changing your information, such as your address.

  • Login to the library catalog using the boxes in the upper right portion of the screen 

  • Use your library card barcode number (example: D290123456) and your password/ PIN.

  • (When you first login, the password PIN is changeme) 

  • We recommend that you change your password/ PIN the first time that you log onto RSA Cat.

  • Ready to Login? Go to the RSA Cat

Basic Searching with RSA Cat

  • By default our basic keyword search looks for the word(s) you entered in the title.

  • It also looks just in the KPL catalog.

  • By using the drop down menu Search Resource you can change how the search looks for the word. 
    (author, subject, etc)

  • It is also possible to limit the search to certain formats, such as DVD, book or Audio)

  • You simply type in a word and hit search.

Search Results

  • The results will show a list of items, depending on what you searched for. 

  • More information is available by clicking on the title.

Placing Holds

  • Once you are logged in to RSA Cat, you may place your own holds on materials in your library. 

  • You may now place holds on other libraries' materials.

  • Search for the item you want.

  • Once you have found it, click on hold.

  • If you are logged in you see a screen that looks like this:

Renewing Items

  • You will need to be logged in

  • Click on the Renew My Materials link at the upper left hand corner of RSA Cat

Follow the two steps shown in the picture below

  • Renewal will not be available on all materials.

  • If you have overdue items or fines, you won't be able to renew.

Ready to Renew? Go to RSA Cat and Login.

There are several other easy functions you can do while logged in. 
Once you login you will not have to do so again during your session in RSA Cat.

  • Review My Library Account simply shows you what you have checked out and when it's due. 
    It also shows you your holds and gives you the option to cancel them.

  • My Items on Hold  shows what you have placed on hold and gives you the option to cancel.

  • View my fines tells you about any money you may owe the library. 
    (At this time the Pay Bill feature is not activated.)

  • Change my address is a way to let the library know that your address, 
    phone or email has changed.

Changing your password/PIN- Also a way to let us know that you have a new address, phone or email.

  • Logon with your old password/PIN-(initially this is set to changeme)

  • Click on Edit My Account (found on the left hand side of the screen)

  • This will take you to the screen pictured below.

  • Follow the steps on the picture below.
