Feel Lost Using the Internet? Afraid of Your New Computer?

The Staff of the Kewanee Public Library is here to help!
The library is offering free Internet training to Adult beginners. No previous computer knowledge is assumed. We will teach you the basics of using a mouse and a web browser in the library.
Classes will last about two hours, and will be taught by a member of the Information Services Department.
Currently classes are held Thursdays from 2-4 PM.
Descriptions of Classes offered at Kewanee Public Library
Mouse Tutorial– If you’ve never used a mouse, this class will give you the skills that you will need.
Keyboard Class– A basic orientation to the computer keyboard, its shortcuts and buttons. Also some introduction to saving files.
Control Panel– How to customize your computer settings.
Internet One– Basic Internet navigation, setting your homepage, and favorites.
Internet Two- Search Engines and searching techniques for the World Wide Web
Introduction to Microsoft Word- Microsoft Word is a program that has many of the same features as other Microsoft Office programs. In this class, you will learn basic word processing and text formatting skills. Requirements: Knowledge of mouse and basic keyboarding
Microsoft Word Two- Learn to create Envelopes and Labels and create a table. Requirements: Knowledge of mouse and basic keyboarding
E-mail One- This class introduces students to electronic communication (e-mail). Students will be guided throughout the process of setting up a free e-mail account using one of the many commercial online providers. Students will also be introduced to basic e-mail functions such as sending and receiving, replying and forwarding e-mails. Requirements: Students must know how to use a mouse and basic keyboarding.
