Movies @ the Library- Love Comes Softly Series

Come and watch movies with us. The Love Comes Softly series is Janette Oke’s moving story of a young pioneer woman in the 1800’s who must call on her faith and courage to help her overcome tragedy.  Now you can see the movie version of this inspiring series on Kewanee Public Library’s big screen.  

The final episode will be “Love's Unfolding Dream” on Friday, July 11  at 2 pm.  The series is free to the public and includes free popcorn, courtesy of Wanee Theatre.
NOTE:  This is the 2nd Friday in July!

Youth Services Programs:  

  • Preschool Story Hour with Marlene Sorenson  Meets every Tuesday at 11:30 AM.

  • Anime Club meets the 1st Thursday of each month at 4PM. This program is for students entering grades 6-9 this fall who are interested in anime books and films and the manga style of animation.

  • Mother- Daughter Book Club meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM. This book club is for girls in the 5th-8th grade. Please call or visit the Youth Services staff if you are interested in joining.

  • Home Schooler's Afternoon is the 4th Wednesday of each month at 1:30 PM.

  • Junior High Board: Meets monthly. Please call the Youth Services for the next meeting time.

Adult Services Events:

  • First Friday of every month. (2 PM) Movies on our big screen.

  • Third Monday of every month. (2 pm and 7 pm)  Book Discussion Group

  • By appointment.   Adult Beginner Computer Classes

  • Third Wednesday of every month (Noon) -- Recipe Roundup.  This informal group has a gastronomic good time!  Make your favorite recipe and bring it to the 2nd Floor Meeting room, along with several copies of the recipe.  Your recipe collection will grow in no time! 

  • Stop by or phone the library any time to learn more about these programs and future featured events!
