The library offers public access computers on all three floors of the building. The lower level houses the computer lab with nine (9) computers available and the YA room with two (2) gaming computers. The main floor offers two (2) “10-minute” stand-up computers across from the circulation desk for checking email. The Children’s Room has six (6) computers for children Kindergarten (who have received their library card) through eighth (8th) grade.
WiFi service is available free of charge on all three floors.
To use the computers or WiFi, the patron needs to present either their library card which is in good standing or a photo ID. If a second person wishes to sit at the computer, they must also have a valid library card or photo ID.
The library computers may be reserved for one hour up to seven days in advance. Reservations will not be valid more than 10 minutes past the reservation time. Reservations are limited to ONE per day. The “10-minute” computers on the main floor may be used multiple times in one day. At 10 minutes before the session ends, the user will receive a notice and then again at 5 minutes that the session will be ending. If no one is waiting to use the computer, you will be given the opportunity to extend the time by 15 minute increments.
Printouts are $.10 for black and white prints and $.50 for color prints. Once the fees are paid at the Circulation desks, staff will release the printouts to the printer. At this time, printouts are not possible through the WiFi. If a WiFi user needs to print, speak with a staff person at the Information Services desk.
The library staff’s role to computer users will be one of guidance. If the patron needs more than a brief orientation to the basic use, then a one-on-one class may be pre-arranged with staff for a lesson. The staff cannot fill out forms and applications for the patron.
Patrons should bring their own CDs and flash drives for saving information purposes. The library does have CDs and flash drives available for purchase at the Information Services Desk.
