Friends of the Library

The purpose of the Friends of the Kewanee Public Library is to encourage and support a closer relationship between the Library and the community. The goal of the "Friends" is to expand and promote public awareness of the resources and the services of the Library.

Friends'Projects

Friends of the Kewanee Public Library
has been instrumental in raising money to fund a number of building projects and library programs which would not have been otherwise possible.

Fundraising efforts include book sales, an annual dinner at the Library with live entertainment in addition to membership fees.

In 2006 the Friends of the Kewanee Public Library presented "Cabaret at the Library, an Evening with Anne and Mark Burnell"

The financial assistance of the Friends has contributed to the purchase of the Library's outdoor sign (pictured below, right), restoration of the grandfather clock and stained glass window .

The Friends Officers meet the second Monday of each month.
