PRE-NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK
So as not to add to the already busy Easter week, the Friends of the Library Annual Spring Book Sale will be held the previous week on April 4-6. Friends members get a sneak peek on Tuesday, April 4 from 4-7pm. If you want in on the sneak peek and you're not already a member, don't be sad because you can join that night and check out the selection. The sale will then be open to the public on Wednesday, April 5 from 9am-7pm and Thursday, April 6 from 9am-1pm.
NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK
Throughout National Library Week, you may bring in (FOOD FOR FINES) non-perishable food items to pay towards your fines on returned items. One item is equal to $1.00 worth of fines up to a maximum of $5.00. All food will be donated to the Kewanee Food Pantry.

FEDERAL & STATE INCOME TAX FORMS ARE STILL AVAILABLE!
We have received Federal 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ forms and instructions. We have also received the Illinois 1040 Forms, as well as the Illinois Schedule ICR Forms and Instructions. We are out of the Illinois 1040 Instructions as we received a very limited quantity. Any forms that we run out of or that have not been made available to us, can be printed out. Please see someone at the Information Services desk for assistance.
ACCESS TO DIGITIZED NEWSPAPERS
The Henry County Genealogical Society, Kewanee Historical Society and Kewanee Public Library District are requesting donations to digitize the Kewanee newspapers now on microfilm here at the library. Once digitized, the newspapers will be able to be searched from your computer. The link to the first group of newspapers that we had digitized is now available for you to use. Click on the heading above and it will take you to the newspapers. This is an ongoing project and as more of the microfilm is digitized, it will be added to this link until all of the microfilm has been digitized. Anyone, not just Kewanee Public Library District patrons, will be able to access this particular link to look at the old newspapers.
General OneFile is a one-stop source for news, magazine, and periodical articles across a wide range of general interest topics and academic disciplines. General OneFile replaces General Reference Center Gold.
Kewanee Public Library District is partnering with Driving-Tests.org, a company dedicated to driver safety and education, to offer free DMV practice tests to library patrons. The new service includes free tests, written specifically based on Illinois DMV materials, and is the only site of its kind to include accessibility tools that allow users to hear selections read aloud, make them into MP3s, translate pages into other languages, magnify text, and mask sections of the screen for greater visibility on driving practice tests.
